It's Christmas Time...THIS IS PART II

So guys I told you like for the past weeks that I will post the new pictures the new decorations and Christmas Lantern and Christmas lights. Now I have finally finished taking those pictures but the quality of the pictures are quite low.(so sorry for that) Since I took the pictures just this evening I tried to the effort I can do to make it nicer but it was still nice for me.

So take a look at the pictures...

It's kind of weird because we are the first one who decorated our house in our barangay. I really thought that they also choose to design their houses with around the month of September to October but no they did not or maybe.... we did it very early.(hehe)

Anyway not much to do this moment....

I'll just watch new series that I bought....

What's With My Earlier Posts

I was kind of shocked when I saw my classmates and other 4th year blog posts where their posts are so long starting from the day they made their new post up to the present time. Well me....for the past few months, my posts are so short that I think that there is one post which only includes not less than five sentences.(hehe) I think I just started to explore again my new blog so I'm not used to post that long since I put it directly to the point with no elaborations and other things. But now I'm starting to be comprehensive enough to put more extra little but important things in my blog.

I'm really sorry guys for those posts but I think it was just okay right??......I think I greatly improved in my comprehension with this posting of blogs.(too confident..sorry) Since there were times that I only have few time for this blog, I seldom post a long one but just these days I was used to open my blog everytime I surf the net and doing other things in my computer. I was surprised on how my posts improved with more informations.

I personally thank those people who always read my blog and put their comments. Another thing...I was surprised..(again)..because when I posted the article about our new Christmas tree and decorations there were people(i have no idea who are them) who commented in it. To those people "THANK YOU VERY MUCH" I really appreciated your comments and my mother said thanks also.

I almost forgot that I need to make a post about our fieldtrip, our lantern and the word cramming. I'll try with my most effort to post it next time so you can read it guys.

...PS...
The third paragraph is out of the topic...hehehe

Why U.P.??

Students who are in their graduating year in their high school are all preparing to what course they will pursue on in college and the more important is the university they will enter after their high school Alma mater.I really don't know why a large percentage of fourth year high school students choose to go to University of the Philippines even though they really know how hard the studies here.

But before you can study, you must need first to pass their high level college entrance test. In this test you are given the chance to choose two courses from you first choice university branch then another two courses from your second choice university. You are really free to choose from the courses you would like to take. But wait I think we should proceed to the reasons.

1. There are many courses to choose from.(If you are lucky and smart enough you would be admitted to one of those courses you chose)
2. Wide school facilities and many school equipments and others you can use.
3. All constituent universities are national centers of excellence and development.
4. It belongs to the Top 500 Universities in The World.
5. Number 1 among the universities in the Philippines.
6. Have the most number of licensure, board exams passers etc.. and also the most number of topnotchers.
7. High quality of education.
8. High percentage of employability.
(all of these came from many sources of which I read)

These are just some reasons why students choose first UP but in my opinion there are still other schools who also excel like University of Santo Tomas, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University System, Far Eastern University and others.

It's up to us on what university we will choose.

Romeo and Juliet

I was kind of surprise when our teacher in English announced that we will have new lesson in Literature after the intramurals in our school. We will have some of Shakespeare's works. Our first one....Romeo and Juliet. Though I've known the storyline of this story it will be different because we will discuss it in the class.

ROMEO AND JULIET(a summary from Wikipedia)

The play begins with a street brawl between Montagues and Capulets. The Prince of Verona, intervenes and declares that the heads of the families will be held accountable for any further breach of the peace. Meanwhile, Count Paris talks to Lord Capulet about marrying his daughter, but Capulet is wary of the suit because Juliet is still too young. Capulet asks Paris to wait another two years and invites him to attend a planned Capulet ball. Lady Capulet tries to persuade her daughter to accept Paris' courtship. In this scene Juliet's nurse is introduced as a talkative and humorous character, who raised Juliet from infancy. After the brawl, Benvolio talks with his cousin Romeo, Lord Montague's son, over Romeo's recent depression. Benvolio discovers that it stems from unrequited love for a girl named Rosaline, one of Lord Capulet's nieces. Persuaded by Benvolio and Mercutio, Romeo attends the ball at the Capulet house in hopes of meeting Rosaline. Romeo and Juliet fall in love, not knowing that they are on opposite sides of the feuding families. After the ball, Romeo sneaks into the Capulet courtyard and overhears Juliet vowing her love to him in spite of her family's hatred of the Montagues. Romeo makes himself known to her and they agree to be married.

With the help of Friar Lawrence, who hopes to reconcile the two families through their children's union, they are married secretly the next day. Juliet's cousin Tybalt, however, is offended that Romeo snuck into a Capulet ball and challenges him to a duel. Romeo, considering Tybalt a kinsman to his wife, refuses to fight him. Mercutio is incensed by Tybalt's insolence, as well as Romeo's "vile submission", and accepts the duel on Romeo's behalf. Mercutio is fatally wounded and Romeo, angered by his friend's death, pursues and slays Tybalt. The Prince exiles Romeo from Verona for the killing. He also adds that if Romeo comes back, "that hour is his last". Lord Capulet, misinterpreting Juliet's grief, agrees to marry her to Count Paris and threatens to disown her when she refuses to become Paris's "joyful bride". Her mother coldly walks away from her when she pleads for her to delay it for even a month.

Juliet visits Friar Lawrence for help, and he offers her a drug which will put her into a death-like coma for "two and forty hours".[4] She takes it and, when discovered apparently dead, she is laid in the family crypt. While she is sleeping the Friar sends a messenger to inform Romeo of the plan, so that he can rejoin her when she awakens.

The messenger, however, does not reach Romeo and he learns of Juliet's apparent death from his servant Balthasar. Grief-stricken, Romeo buys poison from an apothecary, goes to the Capulet crypt. He encounters Paris who has come to mourn Juliet privately. Paris confronts Romeo believing him to be a vandal, and in the ensuing battle Romeo kills Paris. Still believing Juliet to be dead, he drinks the poison. Juliet then awakens and, finding Romeo dead, stabs herself with her lover's dagger. The feuding families and the Prince meet at the tomb to find all three dead. Friar Lawrence recounts the story of the two "star-cross'd lovers" and Montague reveals that his wife has died of grief after hearing of her son's exile. The families are reconciled by their children's deaths and agree to end their violent feud. The play ends with the Prince's elegy for the lovers: "For never was a story of more woe / Than this of Juliet and her Romeo.

I think in our future discussion it will be more analyze and we will take it a serious one I just wish that I will be able to participate at those discussions.

With this lesson, I think it will be more exciting to tackle more of Shakespeare's work like Anthony and Cleopatra, Macbeth and my favorite HAMLET....

I also thought of other authors like Dan Brown, Tom Clancy and Nicholas Sparks. I am waiting for all of these.(hehe)

First Look

Last Saturday, I had an entrance examination in the Far Eastern University. At first I still feel thrilled because I took the exams inside the campus not like in the University of the Philippines College Admission Test I took it in one school in Imus. But before that let me tell you first what happened earlier. My mother, who woke me up, was scolding me at the same time and telling me that it's already late. I told her not to worry but she said we must go there earlier so we will be able to have breakfast first which we were able to accomplish.

While entering the compound of the university, my mother was not allowed by the guards to enter so she needs to have a pass just to go inside but one condition was to exchange an identification card to the pass which she forgot to bring so she just used the ATM card.

After doing all of those things we soon proceed inside and as I enter the university I see a lot of people. People who came from the different countries of the world. You know this university seems like the university of all nations since you can see Japanese girls talking with each other with their native tongue, tall Korean guys walking around, Filipino people who are smoking(but outside the campus and I think not all of them are Filipinos) and a European who really pronounce Filipino words with a different accent(when we asked where can we find the Nursing Bldg. a girl replied to us and has a diff. accent). I saw some cheerleaders practicing some routines. Different students with different uniforms that depend on their courses. I really thought that the test will start early but I think it started past eight but that was alright and worth it because I was inspired by the students who were studying across the hall of the Nursing Building.

The building has elevators because if you will be taking the stairs you'll really get tired because of high distances with each step. Students started to enter the building for about 8:30 and the examinees were called to form a line because the test will start. I was amazed with their facilities in the examinations because I took the test using the computer. I mean you can answer the questions just by clicking the desired answer to each questions given. Easy right? There were five parts of the test which are English, Math, Science, Analogy Part 1 and Analogy Part 2. The atmosphere of the room was soothing because it is air-conditioned and I was energized because of that. The type of the questions were easier than the questions given last time in the UPCAT. It was easier because I think UP really measures the intelligence of the students but I'm not saying that the test in FEU is not difficult because some questions are confusing also. Oh! By the way some examinees have other nationality which really proves what I said awhile ago. One guy is half-Chinese and the other is half-American.(hehe)

After long hours of answering, other examinees were already done with their respective tests while me and others are not yet finish. My mother even asked me why I took the test so long. Maybe, I took the test seriously which I think is odd.(hehe) "At last I'm done with it". That are the first few words I said to myself after I finished taking the test.

After the half of the day with the university my mother and I went to the mall because we bought things that are needed like decorations for Christmas. I'll not elaborate anymore about these things. I just wish that will I pass.

Thanks for reading peeps.

It's Christmas Time

These pictures are the new Christmas tree and decorations in our house. The height of the tree is about 8 feet a lot taller than me. We all decorated it with the help of my mother's friends. The second picture is the decoration for our front door(I forgot what do they call this thing..hehe). I was not able to let you see our new Christmas lantern because it is still in the box and it is a huge one. I will let you see it some time later. My classmates said that we decorated very early but I think it's cool. I think the countdown for Christmas started yesterday because there will be 100 days more before Christmas. To remind you guys, this is my second Christmas in our new house and I think it will be more memorable for this will be my last Christmas in my high school years.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!(advance) hehe

Heypi Bertdey!!!

I just want to greet my friend "HANNAH REYES" a happy happy birthday today!! I wish that you will have a good life in your new country when you will migrate to that place already. Enjoy life... because time is short.

What a Test!!

We just had our first test for the second grading this morning. We only took 3 for today but even though it's just three I felt that my head will burst because of Linear Algebra. It is so long that one hour is not enough to finish it (in my opinion only). Add to the fact that even though the whole test consists only of four numbers I can't even finish it. I just hope that I will not get zero on that test. Another thing is the identifying errors in English(hehe). I admit that I'm not good at it because it spent me a hard and long time to finish(though I finished the whole test first before my other classmates lol..). Mathematics is just alright but I was not able to answer some numbers correctly too bad I really don't know what to do in getting the vertical asymptote on that particular test.

Luckily I survived the first day of test. I'm will study later maybe 4:00 P.M. because tomorrow is the second day of the examinations which will contain the hardest subject...Chemistry(sorry to Ma'am hehe). A great surprise announced awhile ago is that we don't have classes tomorrow in the afternoon. We also don't have test for Physics tomorrow which gives me more time to study it because I'm really confuse with some of the topics discussed.

CavSci students good luck tomorrow!!!

Dr. de Jesus...Don't Laugh Cause I'm Serious(hehe)

Yo Guys..

I will be a doctor someday!!! This is my dream job since grade school. In my opinion, this job is an exciting one. There are lot of things to discover and to study. There is the Anatomy class where you will be able to explore dead people's body. Another is the Neurology class where you will be studying brains. I'm really planning to take the medicine course since I'm already in the 4th year of my high school. But first I need to take a pre-medical course like Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Biology, Psychology, Public Health etc.

After watching medical dramas like Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice and New Heart(korean drama), I felt more excited. So watch out for me and I'll be a doctor hehe... and you'll be calling me Dr. de Jesus.

Ice Cream Invasion!!!!!!!

I mean the taste of our ice cream is so good that I can't help but eating almost all of what we did. Almost all of us did a great job in our experiment for Chemistry....."MAKING ICE CREAM". There are lots of flavor to taste like Cookies and Cream, Cappuccino,Chocolate, and Coffee. All of it taste good except for the Coffee flavor because unfortunately my classmates were not able to produce a good one. But I still think if without the salty flavor in the ice cream it would taste a lot better than us.

We made a lot of fun in rolling the container of the ice cream. The other groups were
kicking the can which I thought is funny. Others take in turns of rolling the ice cream while their groupmates try to rest for awhile. Oh! I almost forgot to tell that a flavor called "PUTO SEKO" was the best flavor I heard. I mean that you can buy Puto Seko around stores but a flavor in ice cream....WOW! This original flavor came from the other section IV-Fluorine. I think they were not able to make a good recipe or maybe they were wrong in using of materials and instructions. I was not able to taste it but they said it really taste like puto seko.

This activity is really fun. If I'm already in college, i will tell this activity to my future classmates.

more tests to come...

Here are some tests to be taken this month and next month too:

  1. First periodical test for the second grading Date: Sept. 16-17
  2. Far Eastern University College Admission Test Date: Sept. 20 ( my schedule)
  3. University of Santo Tomas Entrance Test Date: Oct. 26
  4. Second periodical test for the second grading Date: October( specific date still uncertain)
I really need to study a lot for all of these tests.

Viva La Vida

This song is really cool because it made me and Hannah addicted to it. Every time we meet like at lunch and recess we always sing this song. But here is the real message of the song from a blog of which I read.

Great song. Love it. But have you ever wondered what the heck Chris Martin’s on about? Viva la vida means ‘long live life’ or ‘in praise of life’ – that’s fairly straightforward – but what about the rest?

Some say that it refers to the last days, when Jesus comes again to judge the world. Some say it’s a reference to Psalm 127: “unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labour in vain.”

Others say it’s about George Bush. There’s a great blog post that I haven’t got room to quote here, but it goes through all the lyrics and finds references to Desert Storm, 9/11, weapons of mass destruction, George Bush’s loss of popularity and even more – someone really spent some time on this!

Still others say it doesn’t matter, analysing it through the lens of Plato’s philosophy, Machiavelli’s politics and Openheimer’s theories about quantum mechanics (I know, I got lost about there too). These people reckon that the most important thing is your own interpretation.

If you listen to the Coldplay interviews, Chris Martin tells us that Viva la Vida is actually inspired by the French Revolution and the 1830 painting of it which forms the album’s front cover! But at the same time, it is about hell and eternal damnation, and what that means for life. It is a moving song, and it is meant to be thought-provoking.

Bit like the message of Jesus, really. Way too complicated for the best minds among his ‘fans’ to agree on, and yet his central message is simple enough for the smallest child to understand. People argue about exactly what certain lines in the Bible mean. There are some who know a lot of background facts and can bring in all sorts of clever theories to support their thoughts; and there are those who just know in their gut what’s right.

What struck me about the Coldplay fans is this: they all love the song, and they all agree that the central message is something moving and challenging. They care enough to find out more and to thrash out their thoughts with one another. They’re united on the broad things, but they argue about all sorts of minor points.

If we’re Christians, our central message is far more important than the interpretation of a song. It’s about eternal life or eternal damnation. The penalty for disagreeing with your neighbours on its interpretation can be discrimination, imprisonment, torture or death. All the more important, then, for the ‘fans’ of the message to be united across all countries! We are all different, and sometimes we disagree about minor issues, but what unites us is stronger than what divides us. Let’s be Christians that unite with the persecuted and the free to pray and to glorify Jesus Christ.
